Ancient Buddhist Academy is privately funded and offers its educational and contemplative resources freely. We aim to collect only the information needed to provide optional account features and operate the app.
Information we may collect
You may use the public Virtual Temple without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, we may process your email address and authentication information. If you use optional features, we may store your bookmarks, favorites, preferences, meditation settings, and intentions you choose to save.
How information is used
Information is used to provide account access, remember your selected preferences, maintain saved practices and bookmarks, secure the app, and operate requested features. Ancient Buddhist Academy does not sell personal information to advertisers.
Third-party services
Ancient Buddhist Academy uses Base44 for application hosting, data storage, and account services. If you choose a social sign-in option, Apple or Google may process authentication information according to their own privacy practices. The app also uses ElevenLabs to generate requested pronunciation audio, and may embed media from services such as Apple Music or YouTube. These services may receive technical request information necessary to provide the requested feature.
Private intentions
An intention you mark private is stored as private account data and is not intended to be publicly displayed. Please avoid entering information you do not wish to store in the app.
Account deletion
Registered users may initiate deletion of their Ancient Buddhist Academy account from within the app. The deletion flow removes the Base44 user account together with user-owned saved intentions, Sūtra bookmarks, and app preferences. Some limited records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or technical backup processes.
